Daratony - Jones FACE OFF: SGA Debate

On Monday, Niner Times in conjunction with the Student Government Association, held their annual Student Body President and Vice President candidate debate. The debate is a key event with the intense selection of the new SGA president and vice president. This year’s Presidential candidates are Mitch Daratony and Brittney Jones alongside of them is their running mates Jared Dobbertin and Chloe Vines respectively.

The new and upcoming candidates, Jones and Vines have caught everyone’s attention on campus. These two ladies have little to no prior SGA experience, but they believe that they what they are willing to do and implement cannot only change the face of SGA but the university as a whole.

On the other hand we have Daratony and Dobbertin, they both have 2 years of SGA experience so they know the ins and outs of the organization. Their platform is about tradition: keeping and creating traditions to continue on after them.

The debate showed constituents more than what is on the surface for both candidates and gave a little more insight on their plans and views of SGA before stepping into office.
