If-Youre-Reading-This-Its-Too-Late-Drake.jpg

Just as Drake fans were getting anxious for the drop of "Views From The 6," Drake pulls a Beyoncé and drops a surpise album. "If You're Reading This It's Too Late," was released shortly after the short-film "Jungle" was posted on YouTube. The 17 track album, produced by a number of hit-makers including Boi-1da, Noah "40" Shebib & Vinylz, seemed to be stray away from Drake's typical album form.

The album, which is available on iTunes, showcases the various versions of Drake from the braggy Champagne Papi to the agressive Drizzy. With hardly any actual radio singles on the "album" and no classic heartbreak singing Drake fans started to speculate that this was not an album but rather a mixtape. These speculations stemming from the recent rift between label mate and friend Lil Wayne and Birdman. Lil Wayne who is leaving Cash Money Records spoke of his desire for Drake and Nicki to leave with him. Drake who has a current 4-album contract with Cash Money Records, seemed to have dropped this compilation of extra songs as an album to fulfilll his four album contract.

In simple terms if you're looking for radio Drizzy, with the catchy hooks that will have you singing along, this album does not deliver. This album is a show of mixtape Drake, who raps with a stream of consciousness that just keeps going. So while this may not be Drake's official release, this project gives fans something to enjoy while Drake finishes the anticipated "Views from the 6."
